The Alaska Marine Highway has been the lifeline between Coastal Communities around the State of Alaska for decades now. Transporting school kids to tournaments, travelers to distant and hard to reach places, moving cars and equipment in the lower decks while people are upstairs taking in the views and snacking on some of the best fish and chips around.

I can't imagine Alaska without our Ferries, they're one of the best ways to travel Alaska. Easy and relaxing, I can't tell you how many connections and great conversations I've had while riding the Ferry from Juneau to Ketchikan, Sitka, Haines, and Skagway, or most recently from Kodiak to Unalaska! I still have it on my bucket list to take the Ferry from Kodiak to Homer! There is so much to see, so much to eat aboard, and so many more conversations to have!

Growing up, my mom worked for the Alaska Marine Highway, and my grandfather captained them! So when we had the chance, we were hanging out with Smokey the Bear onboard with our Alaska Marine Highway playing cards in our socks. Such great memories and memories I can't wait to have again with my own kids.

Alaska is the best community, we always come together when it comes to the important things. I'm always boasting about our strength as one. Alaska is a special place, and I love that we take care of each other in so many ways. So let's take care of our Ferries, and show our leaders that we still care and need them as much as ever!

The current administration is proposing nearly 100 million dollars in budget cuts to the Alaska Marine Highway. Eliminating long routes like Kodiak to Unalaska, and Ketchikan to Bellingham. Currently, there are no routes scheduled past October 2019. Let’s please stand up and together on this!

Hi I’m organizing a gathering to take a photo in support of the ferry system. Can I use the photo/flier featured here – I believe in ferries?
